…him, it’s what he’s always done. Shaken my hand like we’re business partners or mere acquaintances. Something shifts in me then, maybe a wedge of forgiveness making its way into my heart, or my own way of letting go. I say, for Pete’s sake, why do you always want to shake my hand? Let’s hug. And so we do as the party continues around us.
