Putting aside my utter disdain for "we" voice stories, because I like you and I do know where you are coming from, I think the trust factor you were hitting on has a lot to do with it, but I think I can make my point by discussing it from the opposite direction--why do people take something that happens in the worst light and assume it to be personal, when there is a very simple explanation that they should not take personally? Case in point, today's system glitch (or outside malicious attack on Medium by hackers who are simply assholes or paid by Newsbreak (a not far-fetched conspiracy theory of mine because, I am sorry, glitches like this do not just happen). I felt very badly for Dr Mehmet Yildiz having people think he targeted them and then them retaliating against him. I sent him this following message, not just to make him feel better, but because I believe it is true:
"Honestly doc, the kind of person who would think that you did it on purpose and retaliates is the kind of person who assumes that kind of behavior because they would act that way to another person--in my view, good riddance to them and their negative energy--look at it as a purge by the universe for your benefit."
