Really lovely piece. I recently started running regularly again after about a 10 year hiatus. It crazy to me how much harder it is at 57 than it was at 47. When I was 47 my first run was the 1.6 milea around the reservoir in Central Park at a sub 11 minute pace and after 6 months I ran a half marathon at a 7' 40" pace. Now after several months I finally am consistently running a few miles at sub 12 minute paces. The most interesting place I ran was the LA Marathon in 2015. The route is from Dodger Stadium to the ocean and along several landmarks and famous roads along the way.

You might enjoy this that I wrote when i just started running a bit this past spring. https://medium.com/write-under-the-moon/each-run-is-a-microcosm-of-life-f13a37cc78fe
