"Released from human bondage am I
now that you stopped cursing God
and are willing to kiss the sky and breathe and exhale Love"--that's the last stanza of my recent death and dying poem based on a departure that just ocurred this week: https://medium.com/channspirations/marisa-boarded-the-rainbow-to-heaven-9c613ff0d764
Also reminds me of another poem of mine, which includes these lines:
"When hearts feel the weight of worry
Eyes look up and find comfort, smile, and kiss the sky
Have you ever tried to touch the sky?
It’s not difficult if you know where to look
Quite easy actually it is, as Yoda would grammaticize
We touch it
We breathe it
Every day, as the atmospheric zone we inhabit is part of the sky
Yet, how does my favorite dictionary define this word you think you know
The vault of heaven; Heaven, the dwelling place of God
Lips purse and drink thirstily raindrops filled with the nectar of life"
Full poem here if you're interested--it was inspired by a photo of a rainbow that my son snapped in Manhattan on this past 9/11: https://medium.com/channspirations/everything-there-is-and-everything-past-all-that-never-came-to-be-and-everything-that-will-last-4af8629af079
