reminds me of what I heard suggested by many in "the rooms" many trips around the sun ago--writing a gratitude list every night (never did) or just a say a bedtime "prayer" thanking the universe for what one has to be greatful for (this I do at times) as a way of getting past the shit without the substance

Moreover, the best prayer is not a request but rather of thanks:
