Reminds me of when my father had a car accident and was helicoptered to a top stage trauma center and the Chaplain got a hold of my number and said my mother and I better get from NYC to rural PA and when we were in the family waiting room the operating nurse walked through and said "man I haven't seen anything that bad since Vietnam." His car went off the road and tumbled 200 feet down a hill and smashed into a concrete culvert. Broke more bones than I remember and his face de-gloved. As I said in my other comment, death cannot be cheated in either direction. The universe won't let someone die before or after their time. I think this accident was a suicide attempt, by the way. Which is really disgusting because he had a passenger in the car, who had her seatbelt on and only suffered a broken leg.
