So, I'll share, because I'm proud of myself and celebrating is not bragging, particularly when I'm sure you would do much better, I ran a 10k race this morning, and while I am so much slower than when I was a runner at age 47 when after 6 months went from a 1.6 mile lap of the central park reservoir in 16.5 or so minutes to running two half marathons two weeks apart each at 7:40 paces, today I ran the 10k in 1:08:30, which beat my previous time on the same converted mostly flat rail trail by 6 minutes. It took me a while to get my head around that I won't progress at 57 like I did at 47. Now my next goal is to run a half marathon in the spring. I'd love to do the NYCRUNS Brooklyn Half at the end of April, but if I don't enter that, I can always do the half marathon put on by today's organizers out here on Mother's Day (unless I'm in NYC with my Mom)
