Sometimes we can't ask for more than as well as can be expected, but I imagine that mentally and spiritually, you can exceed that.

I'm really well, Lori, thanks. Starting around Thanksgiving I've been on a reading actual books kick. Working my way backwards through what I've read, Bradbury's The Illustrated Man (reread of 9th grade English class), Hemingway's A Moveable Feast, reread Hesse's Demian (wrote this after https://medium.com/channspirations/reflections-on-purpose-and-life-0d1156df70ce), reread Hesse's A Journey to the East, reread a middle school read, John Knowles's A Separate Peace 😢, read and loved Somerset Maugham's The Razor's Edge, and read and loved, Jonas Jonasson's The 100-Year-Old-Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared. I've never laughed so much while reading a novel.

I've also been on a bit of a self care kick. I started working running into my walks last spring when I saw my father's belly in my mirror. No idea if I've shed any of that, but it feels good to be running again. My New Years Day highlight was running a 10k (6.2 miles) race in 1:08:30. Running has led to eating healthy, so I'd be surprised if I haven't shed any pounds, especially the last month when I haven't had a drink. No, I have not quit drinking. Just haven't had one in a month simply because I haven't felt like having one, which is a new thing for me. I've had my periods of quitting, but never a period when I haven't quit but haven't drank.

Went to bed early tonight and now that it's after 2 am, I'm pretty awake and after I go leave you a second reply in your update story that I read while still in bed (now I'm at the computer), I'm gonna crack another Hesse book, his second, Beneath the Wheel.
