Thank you. When I first started writing tanka two + years ago, I would explain every line--some readers very much appreciated it and it turned 30 second reads into multi-minute reads :-). Lately I've been leaving more open to interpretation, but I thought with this poem more detailed notes than I have used lately would serve everyone well as many of the references are not well-known terms. I had not even heard of polarity consciousness until 2 days ago.
