Thank you for this great piece. As is often the case, our thoughts are aligned. I wrote back in December: “God does not care anything about money, politics, war, famine, or even who lives or dies, and to the extent God affects any such outcomes it is only to keep things from going too far off the improv-script. Nor do the Gods give a hoot about religions, as religions arise from the human-need to construct a controlling mechanism." That and many other lines with which you will agree are in https://medium.com/illumination/why-is-it-so-easy-for-people-to-believe-the-most-obvious-lies-yet-require-proof-of-god-339a2a07cc4f. And what you say about God and love--god bless you mark. "When I use the term spiritual, I use it in a manner that transcends the binary of theism versus atheism. One can act entirely spiritual with or without a belief in “god” however one understands that term. Spirituality only requires empathy, compassion, and love. Spirituality like science searches for truths, both cosmic and personal." https://medium.com/illumination/i-have-an-essay-brewing-in-my-intp-split-screens-that-will-remove-the-stigmatizing-isms-which-we-c7f56becb8e7. Lastly (for now), in addition to god having spoken their words in the Sufi text, “Religion cannot stand Spirituality. It cannot abide it. For Spirituality may bring you to a different conclusion than a particular religion—and this no known religion can tolerate. Religion encourages you to explore the thoughts of others and accept them as your own. Spirituality invites you to toss away the thoughts of others and come up with your own.”

― Neale Donald Walsch, The Complete Conversations with God

Actually, not finished. You will like this tanka and explainer of mine and I highly suggest reading Gavin Sher’s piece linked therein. https://medium.com/know-thyself-heal-thyself/baruch-hashem-salaam-alaikum-et-al-d6ee7fc7aaec
