There's a similar concept in Judaism. Tisha B'Av is the mournful holiday commemorating the destruction of the 2nd temple. It's also suposed to be the day that one year the 3rd temple will be rebuilt. So I don't want to wait for Tisha B'Av or similar phrases have also come to mean I don't want to wait forever or for something that will never happen.
