This is a great and courageously written story. It takes courage to speak the truth of how people, both sellers and buyers, misuse spirituality.

Yes gratitude is immensely powerful, and as far as a path toward healing, you are so correct to state that it needs to be the last step, not to bypass pain, but after one processes and learns from their pain, find gratitude in their growth and thereby drop a resentment that only poisons themselves. I love your term toxic positiveity. It resonates with me with what I have described but not coined, toxic acceptance. Acceptence of the moment, no matter how terrible, does not mean acceptance of an unacceptable situation forever. https://medium.com/my-selection/my-selection-alcoholics-anonymous-colloquially-known-as-the-big-book-638b5ad7f2e1. Katherine, I salute you. I believe you will relate with this treatise of mine too. https://medium.com/know-thyself-heal-thyself/spirituality-redefined-ff45cb53eaf2.
