This is a great use of short form. The title got my attention as I have had a similar experience with this little piece of mine, which actually started as a short form but once I saw 3k external views I added links to other works of mine into the story and changed the format out of short form so that maybe when it passes 11k external views Medium will distribute it (I'm at 10,700 now) as Medium does not distribute short form for further distribution.
