This is what had me reading with furrowed brow. I knew there was one. I thought it was Greg as you mentioned us having the same name. But I think it was Tony that I knew about. Yes, I'm sure of it. Two brothers by suicide. At least your mom only had to live through one.

And you did the right thing with the offer to the girls. Not that you need my validation. Right from the title I was wondering why you hadn't done that, and then I saw you did--very proud of you, Marce.

I can't make sense of the girls' reaction, but their life never made sense to them. Ya know?

I read a line in a story today that fits. M.C. Lorcia wrote a review of a movie about grief. https://medium.com/grief-book-club/koko-di-koko-das-2019-maelstrom-of-bereavement-04dc9edb094d Here's the part I just thought of: "The movie wants to make a statement to everyone who doesn’t seem to understand (or doesn't want to make an effort to try to understand) why their relationships suddenly become so complicated, confusing, or damaged after their family or friends lose someone they love."
