Three + years ago in my https://medium.com/know-thyself-heal-thyself/technology-versus-soul-1ff8121a7e8c, I posed this question: "Does technology serve humanity by promoting the lazy acquisition of attachments versus our wellbeing?" I talked about the Disney Pixar movie Wall-E. Have you seen it?
I ended the piece with, "Other than medical technology, I often wonder, living in NH [where I was then] with my legs and a bike and rarely using an Uber, if we wouldn’t be better off with a return to the stone age."
I expanded on these thoughts in my https://marcus17043.medium.com/menage-a-trois-between-science-spirituality-and-philosophy-a634f5446364 which includes this passage:
"Here’s my philosophy of modern science. Broadly stated, I think too many scientists waste time and money on matters that are undiscoverable and or have no practical impact on improving life; too many resources are used to develop technology that is used so we can acquire things easier and faster, but those things don’t actually contribute to contentment."
