"Throughout this essay, I use the word God for God as I understand the entity. Please do not confuse that with God as defined by any religion, let alone the Bible, as some readers have done in the past. I simply find the term easy to use. Better or more descriptive terms might be Creator or Source or The Great All." That ended up on the editing room floor of my recent https://medium.com/illumination-curated/lets-talk-about-atheists-and-firm-believers-in-the-god-of-abraham-fe139f4833f3 because I needed to shave off a few minutes to get the boost (succeeded)(my first and only) and because I decided the disclaimer to those that the word triggers was not necessary. The takeaways from my piece include, "I hope any member of any religion who reads my story may take away that you can form your own understanding of God and possibly stay a member of your religion — only fundamentalists would care that you’ve formed your alternate view.

I hope any atheist reading this will take away that there is an alternative, probably several alternatives, to believing in nothing without offending logic and critical thinking and without implicating superstition, but you can forget about proof. That does not mean taking it on faith. You can intuit a belief."

PS: I found my way to your piece from Runa's feature just now.
