There’s a reason why the self-help industry often goes hand in hand with MLM schemes. Both of them are pretty efficient at building a cult around them. They alienate you from the outside world, making sure that no friends or family members can pull you out of their trap. They instruct you to ignore any outside criticisms about their teachings.
