When you got to the point of mentioning the safe and what was expected to be found, my mind went to Truman Capote's In Cold Blood.

As for the philosophical/spiritual parts, I don't believe that what is and is not hard wired into soul contracts is all over the place and that free will can alter almost every part of every contract, which is why I call them improv scripts. The only aspect that I believe cannot be altered by free will is date of death. The how we live and the how we die--very much the product of free will.
