With respect to feelings, I am not sure from reading your piece whether you distinguish feelings from emotions. You probably know that but given how feelings and emotions are often synonyms, for the benefit of other readers, I point out, as I learned from reading White Feather, they are not the same in the context that I think you are discussing. Emotions are all connected to thought and are a mental corruption of pure feeling.
